Workiz currently advertises $130,000 to $135,000 in on-target earnings for a San Diego Account Executive. That is not the same as a guaranteed $135,000 salary: OTE combines fixed pay with compensation earned after reaching defined performance targets.
The distinction is substantial at Workiz. RepVue estimates that approximately 43% of the company’s sales representatives reach annual quota, while Glassdoor reports an average of $120,626 for Workiz Account Executives from 23 submitted salaries. Each source measures compensation differently, and none establishes what every employee takes home.
Workiz sells field-service software covering scheduling, dispatching, invoicing, customer management and payment collection. Its sales employees are therefore selling an operating platform and embedded financial products, including Workiz Pay, rather than a single-purpose application.
The advertised $135,000 is an OTE ceiling
The current Workiz Account Executive listing uses unusually clear wording: compensation is $130,000 to $135,000 on-target earnings. The employer does not describe that amount as base salary.
OTE represents the total compensation expected when an employee achieves 100% of the assigned performance targets. It normally combines guaranteed salary with commissions or other variable compensation. An employee finishing below quota can earn less than the stated OTE; a plan with uncapped commissions or accelerators may allow earnings above it.
Workiz does not publish the Account Executive’s base salary, commission percentage, annual quota or accelerator schedule in the current employer listing. It supplies the resulting target number without publishing the formula behind it.
That leaves four unanswered questions:
- How much of the $130,000 to $135,000 is guaranteed?
- What bookings or revenue target produces full commission?
- How many current employees reach that target?
- When are commissions earned, approved and paid?
The benefits are more concrete. The same listing names a 4% 401(k) match, five annual sick days, 14 vacation days, two floating holidays, stock options and medical, dental and vision options with up to 100% of employee coverage paid by Workiz.
Reconstructing the possible base and commission split
RepVue reports that Workiz SMB Account Executives generally have a 60/40 base-to-variable compensation mix. It separately estimates a base-salary range of $65,000 to $69,000 and an OTE range extending from $90,000 to $135,000. These are employee-submitted estimates, not figures confirmed in Workiz’s current job advertisement.
Applying a 60/40 split to Workiz’s current employer-listed OTE produces the following model:
| Advertised OTE | Implied base at 60% | Implied variable pay at 40% |
|---|---|---|
| $130,000 | $78,000 | $52,000 |
| $132,500 midpoint | $79,500 | $53,000 |
| $135,000 | $81,000 | $54,000 |
These are calculations based on the current Workiz OTE range and RepVue’s reported 60/40 split. Workiz has not confirmed that the present vacancy uses this formula.
A problem appears immediately. The implied $78,000 to $81,000 base is $9,000 to $16,000 above RepVue’s separately stated $65,000 to $69,000 Workiz Account Executive base range.
The figures may cover different job levels, territories or reporting periods. RepVue labels one dataset as SMB Account Executive, while the current employer listing uses the broader Account Executive title. The platform also aggregates employee submissions, whereas the job advertisement describes one vacancy available in July 2026.
This conflict is useful. It shows why a precise base salary cannot be reverse-engineered confidently from a public OTE number and an anonymous compensation ratio.
What quota-attainment data says
RepVue reports that approximately 43% of Workiz sales representatives meet or exceed annual quota, compared with a displayed software-industry average of 42% and global average of 44%. Its Account Executive page gives a similar role-specific estimate of roughly 42%.
If the submitted data represents the broader team accurately, fewer than half of Workiz sellers receive the compensation associated with full quota attainment.
That does not mean the remaining employees earn only base salary. Commission plans commonly pay proportionally before 100% attainment, although Workiz’s exact calculation is not public. Nor does the 42% figure establish that the current $130,000 to $135,000 plan is unrealistic. RepVue does not disclose enough Workiz-specific sample detail on the public page to treat its estimate as audited workforce data.
The estimate nevertheless changes how the job-board number should be read.
| Workiz AE measure | Reported figure | Source limitation |
| Current employer-listed OTE | $130,000–$135,000 | Does not disclose guaranteed base or commission formula |
| Glassdoor estimated average | $120,626 | Based on 23 anonymous submissions |
| Glassdoor typical range | $93,705–$158,503 | May combine base, commissions and other pay |
| RepVue base estimate | $65,000–$69,000 | Self-reported and may cover SMB roles or earlier plans |
| RepVue quota attainment | About 42% for AEs | Not an audited Workiz statistic |
Workiz figures come from its current employer listing, Glassdoor’s July 2026 Account Executive page and RepVue’s Workiz sales-compensation pages.
The $132,500 midpoint of the current Workiz OTE band is $11,874 above Glassdoor’s $120,626 estimated average, a difference of 9.8%. Both figures still fall within Glassdoor’s reported $93,705 to $158,503 typical range.
The most defensible interpretation is that $130,000 to $135,000 describes target compensation for the new role. Glassdoor’s lower average may reflect partial quota attainment, older compensation plans, different Account Executive levels or varying commission outcomes.
Customer success also carries variable-pay risk
Workiz applies OTE beyond traditional sales.
A current Customer Success Manager opening lists $85,000 to $95,000 in on-target earnings. The employee is responsible for renewals, account expansion, retention metrics and increasing adoption of Workiz Pay, making part of the role directly revenue dependent.
RepVue estimates that Workiz Customer Success Managers operate on a 72/28 base-to-variable split, with base salaries from $61,750 to $68,250 and OTE from $85,000 to $95,000. It reports that approximately 51% reach quota.
Unlike the Account Executive figures, this reported split aligns closely with the visible compensation band. Applying 72% to the $90,000 midpoint produces an estimated $64,800 base, while 28% produces $25,200 in target variable pay. The calculated base sits inside RepVue’s $61,750 to $68,250 range.
That does not confirm the formula. It indicates that the independent figures are internally consistent.
It also means the difference between base salary and advertised earnings may be approximately $25,200 at the midpoint. A Customer Success Manager missing retention or expansion targets could therefore finish materially below the job-board headline, depending on how the plan credits partial performance.
What BLS pay data actually shows
The Bureau of Labor Statistics does not maintain a “SaaS Account Executive” occupation. Its national categories provide boundaries rather than an exact Workiz benchmark.
BLS reported a May 2024 median of $121,520 for sales engineers, an occupation that combines technical knowledge with product sales. Employment is projected to grow 5% from 2024 through 2034, with approximately 5,000 openings per year.
Technical and scientific wholesale sales representatives earned a $100,070 median in May 2024. Their employment is projected to grow 2%, while the combined wholesale and manufacturing sales group is expected to produce approximately 142,100 annual openings.
Sales managers earned a $138,060 median in May 2024, and BLS projects 5% employment growth through 2034.
Workiz’s $132,500 OTE midpoint sits $10,980 above the sales-engineer median and $5,560 below the sales-manager median. Those differences are mathematical comparisons, not conclusions about market competitiveness. BLS medians measure wages received across occupations, while Workiz’s number assumes target performance and may contain a large commission component.
The comparison makes one point clear: Workiz is advertising senior-level total earnings rather than an ordinary sales-representative salary. The guaranteed portion could sit much closer to broader individual-contributor sales pay.
Where the headline number misleads
The current Workiz advertisement is factually specific. It states OTE.
Search results, salary aggregators and shortened job cards may remove that qualifier and show only “$130,000–$135,000 a year.” When that happens, projected earnings can look like guaranteed salary.
Three additional effects can distort the number.
First, Glassdoor may display total compensation collected from employees with different quota outcomes. Its $120,626 estimated average and $93,705 to $158,503 typical range are wider than Workiz’s current employer band.
Second, RepVue’s compensation records appear to mix role definitions and time periods. Its published 60/40 split does not reproduce its own $65,000 to $69,000 base range when applied to the current $130,000 to $135,000 OTE.
Third, quota attainment changes realized pay. RepVue’s estimated 42% Account Executive attainment rate suggests that target compensation and typical compensation may be different figures, although its data is self-reported and sample-dependent.
The headline is not false. It answers a narrower question than many readers assume: what can this role earn at target?
The trajectory favors revenue-linked roles
BLS projects overall sales-occupation employment to decline during the 2024–2034 period, even as replacement needs generate approximately 1.8 million openings per year.
Technical sales follows a stronger pattern. Sales-engineer employment is projected to grow 5%, compared with 3% for all occupations, while sales-manager employment is also projected to grow 5%.
Workiz’s commercial roles blend product knowledge with financial targets. Account Executives sell field-service software and payment capabilities. Customer Success Managers carry expansion and retention responsibilities while promoting Workiz Pay adoption.
That mixture places the positions closer to technical and consultative selling than to routine transactional sales. It also makes variable compensation central to the employment relationship.
What cannot be verified publicly
Workiz does not disclose the current Account Executive base salary, annual quota, average contract value, commission rate, ramp guarantee, draw policy or historical team attainment in its employer listing.
RepVue supplies estimates for several of those fields, including a $5,500 average deal size, a roughly $600,000 annual quota and a 29-day sales cycle. The platform identifies them as estimates based on submitted ratings rather than company-issued metrics. They should not be presented as verified Workiz operating data.
Glassdoor’s 23 Account Executive salaries provide a larger visible sample than many Workiz role pages, but anonymous compensation reports may combine different years, teams and definitions of pay.
Data reflects public postings and salary pages available on July 10, 2026. A later compensation plan may use different targets or pay ratios.
FAQ
How much does a Workiz Account Executive earn?
The current San Diego posting lists $130,000 to $135,000 in on-target earnings. Workiz does not disclose the guaranteed base salary in the public advertisement.
Is the Workiz $135,000 figure guaranteed?
No such guarantee appears in the listing. The amount is labeled OTE, meaning total compensation associated with reaching defined performance targets.
What is the estimated Workiz Account Executive base salary?
RepVue estimates $65,000 to $69,000 for SMB Account Executives, but its separate 60/40 pay-mix figure would imply a higher base when applied to the current vacancy. Workiz has not confirmed either calculation.
How many Workiz salespeople reach quota?
RepVue reports approximately 43% across Workiz sales representatives and roughly 42% for Account Executives. These are submitted estimates, not audited company statistics.
What does Glassdoor report for Workiz Account Executives?
Glassdoor estimates average annual pay of $120,626, with a typical range of $93,705 to $158,503, based on 23 submitted salaries as of July 2026.
Does Workiz use OTE for customer success?
Yes. A current Customer Success Manager listing shows $85,000 to $95,000 OTE. RepVue estimates a 72/28 base-variable split and reports that approximately 51% of Workiz CSMs meet quota.
How does Workiz pay compare with BLS data?
The current $132,500 Account Executive OTE midpoint exceeds the BLS $121,520 sales-engineer median but falls below the $138,060 sales-manager median. The figures are not directly equivalent because Workiz reports target earnings, while BLS reports occupational wages.
Workiz’s $130,000 to $135,000 Account Executive figure is a performance outcome, not a disclosed salary floor. The unresolved number is the one that controls monthly financial certainty: guaranteed base compensation.
